Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the SORTL mobile application or website (“Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use SORTL.

2. Description of Service

SORTL is a personal life-administration assistant that helps users organize bills, receipts, contracts, warranties, and other documents using AI-powered extraction, reminders, and insights.

SORTL offers:

  • A free tier with core document organization features.
  • An optional paid subscription (“SORTL PRO”) with additional premium features.

3. Eligibility

SORTL is intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using SORTL, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

4. User Accounts

To use SORTL, you may be required to create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials.
  • Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or compromise Service security.

5. User Content

“User Content” includes any documents, images, PDFs, photos, or data you upload, forward, email, scan, or otherwise submit to SORTL.

You retain full ownership of your User Content. By using the Service, you grant SORTL a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to process your documents solely to:

  • Extract and structure information.
  • Provide reminders, summaries, and insights.
  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Service’s functionality and reliability.

We do NOT use your documents to train external or third-party AI models.

6. WhatsApp and Email Forwarding (User-Initiated)

SORTL allows users to forward documents using WhatsApp or email. By forwarding a message or attachment, you consent to SORTL processing the content solely to provide the Service.

  • SORTL does not read or access your WhatsApp messages except those you intentionally forward.
  • We do not sync contacts, chat history, or messages from your device.
  • Forwarded messages are treated as User Content and stored securely as described in our Privacy Policy.

You may revoke consent and request deletion of your forwarded content at any time.

7. Paid Subscriptions (SORTL PRO)

SORTL PRO is an optional subscription offering additional features.

a. Billing

Subscriptions are billed through:

  • Apple App Store (iOS)
  • Google Play Store (Android)

SORTL does not directly process or store payment information.

b. Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.

c. Cancellation

You may cancel at any time through your device’s app marketplace:

  • iOS: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions
  • Android: Google Play → Payments & Subscriptions

We cannot cancel subscriptions on your behalf.

d. Refunds

Refunds are subject to Apple’s and Google Play’s policies. SORTL does not issue refunds directly.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

  • Upload or forward illegal or harmful content.
  • Use SORTL to commit fraud or misrepresentation.
  • Reverse-engineer or tamper with the Service.
  • Attempt unauthorized access to systems, accounts, or data.
  • Interfere with network security or attempt to bypass restrictions.

9. Service Availability

We strive to keep SORTL online and reliable, but we do not guarantee:

  • Continuous availability of the Service.
  • Delivery of reminders or notifications without delay.
  • Error-free document processing.

We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time.

10. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Amazon Web Services (AWS) with industry-standard encryption. For complete details, see our Privacy Policy.

11. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time through the app. When you do:

  • All documents, embeddings, and extracted metadata are permanently removed within 30 days.
  • The deletion is irreversible.

12. Third-Party Services

SORTL integrates with certain third-party platforms, including but not limited to:

  • Email service providers
  • WhatsApp (for user-initiated forwarding only)
  • Apple App Store and Google Play Billing
  • Cloud infrastructure (AWS)

SORTL is not responsible for failures or outages caused by third-party platforms.

13. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, SORTL shall not be liable for:

  • Loss of data or content
  • Missed reminders or deadlines
  • Financial losses or penalties
  • Service interruptions or errors

Your use of the Service is at your sole risk.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Significant updates will be communicated through the app or website. Continued use of the Service after updates constitutes acceptance.

15. Governing Law

Unless otherwise required by local consumer laws, these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel.
